Sweet 6th Birthday
My birthday is coming up, I'll be 36. The only way that I remember my age anymore is that me and my daughter are 30 years apart. Even though, sometimes I still forget and make myself at least 3 years older than what I really am. I don't know why I do this so please don't ask. :)
Well, as we all know, with little girl birthdays come birthday parties. This year, she wanted a slumber party. Easy enough, however she is 6 and doesn't have many friends who stay over so I had to think of a way to make her very small and "exclusive" slumber party that consisted of her and 1 of her cousins, seem like the biggest birthday bash ever and I think I was successful.
Here is what I came up with:
Being a single mom, I have to stay within a budget. I have these grandiose ideas, however, my wallet can't quite compete with them so I have to find a way to make it work. This year as I was compiling all 10,000 of my decorating ideas, I decided to try and stick with simple decorations like streamers, poms poms, fans, etc, and just make the most of them.I found this streamer garland on A Bit Of Sunshine blog and absolutely fell in love with it so I knew that I had to somehow incorporate it. The garland was actually my favorite part of all of the decorations. It took forever to complete but to me the strong presentation made it worth it. For the wall I simply hung streamers from floor to ceiling alternating colors, hung 2 pom pom garlands and then used a couple hanging decorations from Party City to try and cover the ceiling fan.
Our kitchen isn't that large but I had just enough space. The dining area isn't quite symmetrical but I think it worked just fine. My daughter loved it and so did her party guest (she had a very small craft party before her slumber party).
Thank you to my wonderful friend, Renee over at R.Watson Photography, for the awesome photos! She rocks and we absolutely LOVE her<3!!

I missed my damn calling!
I should have been a home ec teacher. I should be in a class room teaching young girls and boys how to make brownies, sew on buttons, and how to prepare perfect al dente pasta, not sitting in a cubicle talking to people who don't know their ass from a hole in the wall taking the blame for something my too big to fail employer has once again screwed them over for.
Hindsight is a bitch!

Happy New Year!!
It's 9:07pm EST and this is my first blog entry for 2013. With a new year, for most, come now hopes, new dreams, and new goals. I usually do not resolve to do anything new or different just because it's a new calendar year, but for this year, I feel like I should make some changes to my life.
I have been extremely blessed in talents and people who believe and support me, so I think it is high time to take advantage of what God has given me. When I am motivated and well rested, I thoroughly enjoy baking and crafting. I love to share and discuss new ideas with others who shate similar interest. I really believe that if I fully committed more time into cultivating my skills and networking, then my goals of being on the Martha Stewart Living can come to pass before I'm 234 years old. :)
One way that I plan to do this is by making more frequent blog entries because lets face it, I have a lot to say...about almost EVERYTHING, but for the sake of continuity to my blog I will try to focus on mostly baking and crafts. On an average I post to Facebook at least twice a day, so I figure I should channel a lot of that content here.
Another thing I plan on doing is tackling some of my growing cumulation of pins on Pinterest. As it stands today, I have almost 3000 pins with only 551 followers, most of which are following my "Life" board which consists mostly of exercises and motivational quotes. Which brings me to another goal for 2013, getting back into shape and taking time for me.
I hope that I will be able to stick with these goals, and even more, I hope that I am able to reach more people and become more involved in the internet community.
To my 2 followers, thank you! Maybe by year end we can get a couple more people to join us! Lol!
That is all for tonight !
